NEW 2008
RACING SAILS, also custom and classic cut sails, fine “vintage”
sails in cotton.
Nylet racing sails are constantly undergoing update and improvement
to embrace latest thinking and new cutting and finishing techniques.
Last years season again has seen many “firsts” with reports
from delighted customers. Racing sails incorporate coloured multi-ply
corner patches and we make use of the latest non-stretch lightweight
luff tape etc. Suits may be specified in drawing film, scrim, or Dacron.
Finger (corner) patches are a real bonus when used on light weather
suits. We make any size sails to order, just send drawing or templates
for a quote. We have added many sails to our list, such as those manufactured
by Robbe and Kyosho, the Fairwind, Comtesse, Northwind, and Micro Magic
- also Vic Smeeds latest “Star Baby”. Sails for older designs also feature, such as Lady Betty, Starlet, Panache, Gosling, Highlander and Genie.
“Classic cut”
Dacron sails can be made - as sewn by us in the 60’s (and earlier) and
incorporate conventional finishing methods more suited to yachts of
that era (where all patches and battens are applied and sewn). Sails in quality cotton material are made exclusively by us
and are in essence as we manufactured them in the 1940’s. Newly
available are sails in varnished Terylene, for racing yachts of the
50’s era!
The IOM yacht kit for the “Three” is kitted in various modes
to suit all pockets.
Sail rig kits are available for most class yachts. For the non-class yachts
we may be able to customise a rig to suit your requirements although
fittings are generally “modern” and not “vintage.”
We design rigs and sails for your yacht should there be no spars or
detail available. Please contact us with your requirements for cost.
Masts & fittings include Bantock groovy aluminium masting, also available conventional circular aluminium
mast tubing as well as carbon-fibre. The ever increasing range of comprehensive
fittings are either our manufacture or by Peter Wiles.
The product listing is arranged in easy to follow sections, and this
is a practice we adopted in our catalogue as far back as the 1970s;
we hope it helps you track what you need. All product information is
available on our web site which is updated regularly.
SECOND-HAND RACING YACHTS offered for sale, as available; please phone or email
