The “How To” range of Nylet information leaflets & booklets.
B20 SAILMAKING. Nylet “how to” booklet on making model yacht sails - 20 pages in full colour. The art simplified, sailmaking techniques with practical tips for the beginner intending to make his own model sails either in cotton or in synthetic sailcloth. Many colour photographs, with clear and helpful diagrams.

BB3 Newly expanded to 24 pages, this Nylet "how to" general booklet illustrated with colour photo pages now has more drawings on rigging techniques, tips on calculating C of E, under deck construction, sailwinch layouts explained, radio & batteries, mould & hull making in GRP, lead casting, and includes the “secrets” of sail setting and tuning. New pages with drawings of Briane control and rigging vane yachts; also classic Marbleheads discussed.

Prices, see section 1 in the price list.

Customer comment: booklets B20 & BB3 make excellent reading, crammed full of useful info.

Some suggested books for 'vintage' reading (out of print - try Abe books, or Amazon):
R.Griffin. Model Racing yacht construction. ISBN 0 85242 672 0. A MAP publication, although somewhat dated in parts (first published 1973) a lot still holds good and a useful source for those building a yacht from scratch; there is a chapter on vane control.
B.H.Priest & J.A.Lewis. Model Racing Yachts. A classic work, a MAP publication, has 9 line drawings of older Marbleheads, Ten Rater and A-class.
Edward W.Hobbs. Model Sailing Boats. First published Feb.1923. A classic work, has much of interest especially to those sailing or restoring older vane yachts, includes chapters on Ten Raters, The Metre Classes and 18 Footer class.
